The Rotaract Club of Dharan Ghopa carried out the project “Radio Program – Rotaract Swastha Darpan.” Club members researched, produced, and broadcasted a series of radio programs via Star FM located in Dharan, Nepal once every two weeks that provided health care education to people in eastern Nepal, many of whom lacked access to reliable medical information.
Rotarians from the sponsor club, the Rotary Club of Dharan Ghopa, had secured free studio time to produce the program, provided medical expertise as speakers, and promoted the initiative to other Rotary clubs across Nepal.

Project Overview
The project consisted of a half-hour fortnightly radio program featured via Star FM in Dharan, Nepal that included:
- Radio dramas on common diseases
- Interviews with health experts
- Health facts and news
- Club updates
Initiated and coordinated by Rotaractor Dr. Satish Prasad Barnawal as Founder Chief Coordinator of the Rotaract Club of Dharan Ghopa, the program successfully imparted health care information to the general public, while also enhancing fellowship and developing professional skills among Rotaractors.
The program dramatized real scenarios of diseases prevalent in the community. Doctors explained the medical aspects, enabling listeners to recognize mistakes in their lifestyle and take corrective measures. The broadcast reached a wide population across eastern Nepal in a single effort.
This innovative approach to health education was recognized internationally by Rotary International as the International Winner of the 2012 Rotaract Outstanding Project Award in Bangkok.
